What We Do
Mission
We are a multi-age learning community which fosters a passion for learning in all students so they can reach their full potential. The school utilizes a project-based curriculum integrating academic disciplines, emphasizing social responsibility and environmental sustainability, in small classroom settings to prepare each graduate to be a responsible citizen in the global community.
Founded in 2002, The Compass School is a K-8 public charter school dedicated to empowering students to become thoughtful, compassionate leaders of tomorrow. Nestled on a historic 20-acre farm in Kingston, Rhode Island, we combine a dynamic, hands-on learning approach with a commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
Through project-based learning and an integrated curriculum, our students explore the interconnectedness of the world around them—gaining academic while actively engaging in sustainable practices. From cultivating our organic production farm to participating in social impact initiatives, Compass students are equipped with the tools and values needed to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
Guided by our core principles of sustainability and responsibility, we strive to nurture both the minds and hearts of our learners, preparing them to navigate the challenges of an ever-evolving world with purpose and resilience.
